THE BEST FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY PROPS FOR FOOD BLOGGERS

When I post a food photo on instagram I often get asked where I get my food photography props from. And seeing that this post all about sourcing food photography props for every budget is two years old now (!), I felt it was time to provide you with an update.

Before I delve into today's blog post all about the best food photography props for food bloggers a few things for transparency - today's blog post is NOT for those just getting started and eager to buy cheap and cheerful food photography props and ceramics (for that please head here). There is nothing wrong with keeping a close eye on your budget when you're thinking about making the move into food blogging and in fact I highly recommend you budget carefully at the start of your food blogging journey because it's very easy for things to get out of hand ;).

MADRID FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY, STYLING AND SOCIAL MEDIA WORKSHOP

I feel life is there for living, for trying new things, for taking risks and for learning from your mistakes and triumphs. Always eager to practice what I preach I hence decided to take the plunge and teach my first food photography, styling and social media workshop abroad. It felt like a risk because the people that follow me on social media and visit my blog mainly live in the UK, but I was eager to test the waters and see what would happen if I hosted a photography workshop in Madrid. I must say, I'm delighted that I did because I got to work with a LOVELY group of women, whom I may never otherwise have had a chance to spend time with. But before I tell you all about them, want to hear what happened over the 2.5 days of the workshop? Cool, because that's what today's blog post is all about!

My long term blog readers and my instagram tribe members know that I set off on a 5-week trip through South America last summer. It was a really important trip that allowed me to connect to my roots and discover an important part of my identity. You can read the blog post where I talk about all that good stuff by clicking here.

The trip also enabled me to meet the only (!!!!) other Colombian food blogger I know - Julian from Historias del Ciervo. We'd been instagram friends for a few years during which I gleefully watched his following grow exponentially and rejoiced when he was nominated for the Saveur Blog Awards in 2016. He is - to date, as far as I'm aware - the only South American blogger EVER to be nominated by Saveur. Can you imagine how inspiring that is? HUGELY!

A few weeks ago I got interviewed by a university student who was writing her dissertation on (paid) influencer work on instagram. And so I posed the question on my instagram stories and - low and behold - 85% of you wanted me to write about how to get paid influencer work on instagram. As always your wish is my commend and this week that's the topic I am tackling. Sound good? Cool then please do read on.

PEANUTBUTTER ENERGY BALLS IN COLLABORATION WITH DENBY POTTERY

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for Denby Pottery. All opinions expressed in this blog post are my own and I was in no way influenced by the company.

In case it's not blatantly obvious I LOVE being social. You know, chatting, hanging out and chilling with friends, having a laugh or two and nibbling on some delicious vegan food in the process. Sharing experiences like these really help me get through the long, dark days and nights in January. And having pottery pieces that are both functional and pretty go a long way in making these kind of evenings with friends fun and stress-free.
