INTRODUCING THE NEW LIVE TUTORIALS '10 FOOD PHOTO INSTA QUESTIONS WITH...'
This blog post is part 15 of my INSTAGRAM SERIES - content all about helping YOU manage your way around instagram. In the INSTAGRAM SERIES I've touched on subjects such as how to get paid influencer work on instagram and working with brands and setting your price. Just click here to find all the other parts in the series. Now on with today's post about my new LIVE tutorials! (BTW I highly recommend you read this blog post about why I think going LIVE on instagram is SO important first, before digging into today's post. It's not essential but it'll just give you some context ;)).
HOW THE IDEA FOR THE LIVE FOOD PHOTO INSTA TUTORIALS CAME TO BE
Before I tell you about the new LIVE tutorials, can I tell you a little bit about how I got to starting it? Well, if you have been watching my instagram stories recently you may have seen me mention that I'm working with a business coach. It was a VERY scary decision as getting this kind of help comes with - what I consider - a higher than average price tag. BUT I knew that it was a necessary step that would help me get clarity and direction I felt I was lacking. I also strongly believe that I would be able to be a much better instagram mentor and teacher if I got all my own ducks in a row. So with that in mind I signed on the dotted line and can honestly say it's been the best decision I've made in a long, long time.
DON'T WE ALL WANT TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOOD PHOTOGRAPHERs?
You see, I thought that I wanted to be a successful photographer and stylist. That these were ''real'' and ''prestigious'' jobs and therefore the titles I should be striving for. But you want to hear something odd? Though I thoroughly enjoy it when I get photography and styling gigs, they have never brought me the level of happiness that I thought they would. I found that confusing and also terribly frustrating. If they weren't my end goal, my calling and what made me smile from ear to ear, what was/is?
I couldn't really answer that question on my own but through several sessions with my coach I've come to the realisation that from all the things I do in my business, supporting and teaching YOU to the best of my abilities brings me more joy than I ever thought possible.
IS TEACHING FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY AND SHARING INSTAGRAM GROWTH TIPS A REAL JOB?
It may not seem like a big deal to you reading those words here, but let me tell you THAT WAS REALLY SCARY FOR ME TO ADMIT! I mean what kind of unstable, super competitive and weird job is teaching people food photography, food styling, blogging techniques, SEO and social media. And see, when I was growing up SEO wasn't even a word! How on God's earth could it now be a ''real'', ''honest'' and ''respectable'' profession? I must confess I am still grappling with this, but what I am certain about is that showing up for my community and helping them grow, thrive and develop their food photography, food styling and social media skills feels totally right.
SO WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH THE NEW LIVE FOOD PHOTO INSTA TUTORIALS?
Once the penny dropped that teaching and helping others fine tune their photography and food blogging skills was 'my thing', I was able to really focus in on developing awesome free teaching tools that would allow me to share my passion and knowledge for food photography, styling and social media with you guys. Therefore I really wanted to make my creative online community be THE place to get THE BEST possible help, inspiration, support and guidance thereby enabling my tribe to flourish like no other.
''Just'' running the creative community without clear goals and learning objectives didn't feel good enough though. That's because I want my members to get as much helpful content as possible so that they feel empowered and supported in pursuing their passion for food, photography and styling. And THAT'S where the LIVE tutorials come into play.
WHAT ARE THE LIVE TUTORIALS ABOUT!
As the name of the LIVE tutorials suggests, I ask experts within the food blogging, food photography and instagram/social media space 10 questions so that YOU can benefit from their knowledge, insight and expertise.
I really wanted the tutorials to be LIVE so that you can experience the awesome guests for yourself and ask them a question or two about whatever you need help with. I also feel going LIVE allows me to connect more with you and understand better how I can help you overcome any obstacles along your food blogging path.
WHEN WILL THE 10 FOOD PHOTO INSTA QUESTIONS WITH... BE ON?
