My long term blog readers and my instagram tribe members know that I set off on a 5-week trip through South America last summer. It was a really important trip that allowed me to connect to my roots and discover an important part of my identity. You can read the blog post where I talk about all that good stuff by clicking here.

The trip also enabled me to meet the only (!!!!) other Colombian food blogger I know - Julian from Historias del Ciervo. We'd been instagram friends for a few years during which I gleefully watched his following grow exponentially and rejoiced when he was nominated for the Saveur Blog Awards in 2016. He is - to date, as far as I'm aware - the only South American blogger EVER to be nominated by Saveur. Can you imagine how inspiring that is? HUGELY!

NOTE: This blog post is part 10 of my INSTAGRAM SERIES - content all about helping YOU manage your way around instagram, food blogging and social media. In the INSTAGRAM SERIES I've touched on subjects such as why you're losing followers (and what to do about it) and how to set your price when working with brands. Just click here to find all the other parts in the series. Now on with today's blog post...

Is it just me or do we live in a society that only and always talks about (food) blogging in the context of success, fame and fortune!

''So and so left their boring 9-5 desk job to blog professionally and now is on the cover of Delicious Magazine.''

''Or such and such worked as a checkout girl and now blogs full time, with a following of 500,000 to boot and a sandwich at Pret a Manger named after her.''

VEGAN BUTTERNUT SQUASH RAVIOLI WITH SALVIA + LIMONE AND TWIGG STUDIOS (V, V+, ChF)

I am rather happy working on my own. Thing is, I like my own company. But when all is said and done, I'm a super sociable person, so when Aimee from Twigg Studios suggested we do a another collaboration and inviteSilvia from Salvia + Limone too I was totally game. The result of bringing our creative minds and hands together is today's delicious and (if I may say so myself) GORGEOUS vegan butternut squash ravioli recipe. Despite appearances, it SO easy to make and the perfect recipe for this time of the year.

3-DAY FOOD STYLING AND FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP WITH TWIGG STUDIOS

In September, Aimee from Twigg Studios and I taught a 3-day food styling and food photograpy workshop in my home 'studio' in London. It followed on from our 3-day workshop which we taught back in March this year; we enjoyed it so much we decided to do it all again and am I glad we did; we had SUCH a good time.

So much so that we thought it would be nice to have YOU take a look at what went down, just in case you're thinking about attending one of our food photography workshops in the future ;). Ok then, without further ado, let's get stuck in, shall we?

I can't believe it's already a week ago since the 3-day food photography and food styling course Aimee and I taught has come to an end. We had SUCH a lovely time and in fact today's images, which were taken on day 2 of the workshop really, really capture the essence of what our workshop was about; lots of great food, lovely company and heaps of visual inspiration and creativity. I personally believe the images of day 2 were extra special as one of our 'students', the super talented Silvia, was present and SO generous as to share her delicious vegan red onion focaccia recipe with us as well as her incredible knowledge when it comes to styling.
