FAQ ABOUT THE LONDON FOOD STYLING COURSE
WHAT IS YOUR TEACHING EXPERIENCE?
Silvia has been teaching 1-2-1 and group food photography workshops in the UK as well as internationally for approximately 2 years now, following a career working in the fashion and magazine industry. I have been teaching food photography and styling for more than 3.5 years both in person and online. Having said that I’ve been a teacher - in one capacity or another - for more than 2 decades. Together we work incredibly well, complimenting one another’s skill set beautifully.
DO I NEED A DSLR TO PARTICIPATE?
DSLR, mirrorless camera as well as smart phone photographers are very welcome. The day is about styling, composition and editing in Lightroom, NOT about camera basics. You’ll need to know how to use your camera - be it DSLR, mirrorless or mobile - in order to get the most out of the workshop.
IS THIS WORKSHOP AIMED AT BEGINNERS?
This workshop is aimed at those who have a good, solid understanding of how to use the functions of their camera (ISO, shutterspeed and F-stop/aperture) and/or have a good understanding of how to work their smart phone camera. And hence if you’re a complete beginner and looking to get to grips with your camera, this workshop may not be right for you.
The focus of the workshop is to fine tune your styling and composition, gain a solid understanding of the principles of styling with a focus on attaining an organic, effortless look. It’s also great for those who wish to take their Lightroom editing skills to the next level.
WILL YOU TEACH ME HOW TO USE MY DSLR?
No, we hope that before attending the workshop, you’ll have learned how to change your settings and will come with a good understanding of how to use your camera or smart phone camera.
DO YOU HAVE A PAYMENT PLAN OPTION?
Yes, we do! Please contact us via the form below for further information.
WHAT MAKES THIS WORKSHOP DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHERS OUT THERE?
we believe in learning by doing and hence there will be LOTS of hands on styling time
we keep classes small to give you the space to ask questions and get the most out of your teachers
we are both very experienced teachers, food photographers and food stylists, having had our work featured in magazines, cookbooks, billboards etc.
our aim is to guide you away from anything that looks too staged or forced, towards natural, effortless styling by teaching you the foundations of styling and composition
