WHAT ARE LIGHTROOM PRESETS?

Lightroom presets are similar to filters (as seen on Instagram), only better. They save editing adjustments so that you can easily re-apply the same adjustments to multiple photos allowing you to create a branded, signature and cohesive photography look. 

WILL YOUR LIGHTROOM PRESETS WORK FOR NON-FOOD RELATED PHOTOGRAPHY?

These Lightroom presets have been specifically designed, tried and tested for food photography, however you might find they work for other types of shots too :).

WILL THESE LIGHTROOM PRESETS WORK WITH ARTIFICIALLY LIT FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY?

Possibly! However, these presets have been designed for use in natural light situations only. They will not work if you use artificial lighting.

ARE THE PRESETS TRICKY TO DOWNLOAD?

Absolutely not! I’m no tech whiz and I made it work, so I know you can too. Nonetheless, when you purchase these presets you’ll get a HOW TO DOWNLOAD MY PRESETS guide, to walk you through step by step.

WILL THESE PRESETS WORK ON ANY VERSION OF LIGHTROOM?

You’ll need the updated Lightroom Classic version for desktop or any version (from 2018 onwards) that supports .xmp files. These presets will not work for Lightroom on mobile. If in doubt, please message me.

WILL YOU RELEASE THESE PRESETS FOR MOBILE?

Yes! These are now available here.

WHAT’S YOUR REFUND POLICY?

As these are digital products, once you download them I don’t offer any refunds or returns. I am so sorry. Hence, please check the before and afters closely to make sure these are right for you. Please also note, the investment outlined is show in UK£.

WILL EACH PRESET WORK ON EVERY SINGLE IMAGE?

Not necessarily, which is why you have 14 to play with! Some work better when you shoot warmer foods like chocolates or pumpkins, others work better when you’re shooting foods that include cooler toned foods like berries and such. The detailed accompanying ‘HOW TO’ information will break everything down for you, so don’t even worry about it.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COMPLETE PACK?

• my 4 essential presets, which will help you create a moodier look.

• my 8 light presets, which will help you create images with a lighter feel - from warm, to soft, to cool and fresh

• my 2 bonus presets, one which will be moody and soft (TLP dark clay) and the other (TLP hazy concrete +) which will be on the lighter spectrum.
  
  

WILL THESE LIGHTROOM PRESETS WORK FOR IMAGES USING HARSH LIGHT OR TAKEN OUTDOORS?

The presets will be at their best if used for images shot indoors with natural light, soft or diffused light. They may not work as well for food images shot outdoors or images where harsh light comes into play.

DO I NEED TO OWN LIGHTROOM ON MY DESKTOP TO USE THESE PRESETS?

Yes! You will need to own Lightroom version 7.3 or higher on your desktop. The free Lightroom mobile editing app will not support these presets and neither will any other editing software like Capture One. 

DO I NEED TO SHOOT MY IMAGES IN RAW OR WILL THE PRESETS WORK ON JPEG IMAGES TOO?

The presets are at their best when used by those of you who shoot images in RAW. However, they can also be used if you're shooting your images in jpeg format. 

IF I USE YOUR PRESETS WILL MY IMAGES LOOK EXACTLY LIKE YOURS?

Gosh I hope not! The TLP light food photography Lightroom presets are the ones I currently use, however I hope that they will allow you to establish a look that you like and - from there - enable you to develop your own style.

ONCE I APPLY THE PRESET, WILL I NEED TO DO ANY FURTHER EDITING?

Possibly. The presets don’t adjust white balance or exposure for example. Any additional editing suggests will be outlined in the HOW TO guide that comes with the presets. Personally I apply the preset and make at most 2-3 minor adjustments.

With the help of these presets my editing takes me 2-5 minutes at most my aim is that the same will apply to you.

I LOVE SUBTLE USE OF COLOUR AND VERY MUTED TONES, ARE THESE PRESETS RIGHT FOR ME?

Though each preset is very different and some, like soft linen and dark clay have a gentler feel, most focus on deep, rich colours as shown in the examples on this page.

WILL YOUR LIGHTROOM PRESETS 'FIX' A PHOTO I TOOK THAT DIDN'T COME OUT RIGHT?

No! Please remember, presets are there to take a correctly exposed and well composed food photography image from good to jaw droppingly gorgeous.
