THE BEST PHONE CAMERA TRIPODS - A REVIEW FOR FOOD CONTENT CREATORS
If, like me, you use your phone camera to create short form food video content for Instagram Reels, Youtube Shorts or TikTok, and you are eager to up your game, a phone tripod is an ESSENTIAL tool you need to ensure your footage is ace. Because who wants to see shaky content?
I use four different tripods on a regular basis to film content on my phone from a multitude of angles, and today I am sharing an honest review of each phone tripod stand, so you can ensure you get the one that best suits your needs.

A flexible phone and camera tripod
This phone stand is my least used tripod, but it does come in handy for those awkward, close-up captures. It’s great if you’re really into creating restaurant review videos and vlog content on the go because it is light weight and portable.
It’s an affordable option and I would give it a 5/10; not spectacular, but a good-to-have! The particular model I have is no longer available, but I link to a similar one in my studio guide and EQUIPMENT highlight!
The UNIQU portable phone holder
This tripod is perfect for cheeky behind the scenes captures as well as informal overhead video content for your IG stories.
BUT, if your phone is on the heavier side, the overhead position may not be possible as the tripod isn’t THAT sturdy. It IS however super portable, storable and easy to use. So it gets a 7/10!
Note: This is a stand I use, but I have decided to no longer promote it as a couple of people have mentioned that the customer service is not at all satisfactory. I am leaving it here for reference as you might want to look for something similar.
The Ailun tripod phone mount holder
I’m OBSESSED with this one; it’s not a phone stand per se, but an attachment and works great for wider angled captures. It does require you purchase a separate stand, however that stand can also be used for your lighting, so is good to have at hand anyway! The holder can only handle one angle (straight), but for behind the scenes and wider shots, it’s ideal.
A solid 9/10!
The arkon - AKA the beast
This is a MUST, especially if you’re a recipe video content creator. It’s the best for overhead shots and can manage so many different angles, it’s insane. BUT it’s not portable and really works best when capturing closer up content. It’s probably the most versatile and sturdiest of all the ones featured on this list.
A question I often get asked is if it shakes when I chop vegetables and such for my recipe videos. I can assure you that this is not an issue I have ever experienced. So overall, I give this a 9.5/10 it’s the winner!
