Having the right food photography gear can make the food content creation process that little bit more efficient and enjoyable! With videography now a must alongside photography, the gear needed has expanded well beyond just cameras, lenses and lighting. Here are some of the food photography and food videography gear I swear by (or dream of) and I know there’s a food photographer out there who will love to receive any or all of these from you this season. The Arkon Mounts camera stand is a MUST for recipe video content creators. It’s the best for overhead shots and can manage so many different angles it’s insane. Have you ever lost, or thought you’ve lost all your work? If you have you don’t need me to tell you how it feels. If you haven’t, trust me when I say… BACK it UP! One of the easiest ways is to copy everything onto an external hard drive. I use this cute one by Lacie which has 2TB of space and is shock, drop and pressure resistant. Peace of mind!
If you’re thinking about doing more voice-overs you’ll need a good microphone. I am loving the professional grade Lavalier GO which is designed for use in a wide range of applications including filmmaking, broadcast, streaming and video calls. Elevate your Reels with great sound and give them that slightly more professional feel!
This little beauty is on my own wish list! The Sony Alpha 7II is a gorgeous, mirrorless camera with glowing reviews. If you’re looking to switch to mirrorless, I’d say this is the way to go.
