LONDON FOOD STYLING AND INSTAGRAM WORKSHOP / BEHIND THE SCENES

In the lead up to every food photography and food styling workshop I host right here in London, I’m always frantically running around till the 11th hour, sourcing the most photogenic food, getting the right food photography props and scouting the perfect lunch locations, whilst wondering if I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. But then, when students come from near and far, I realise it is all worth it and that I’d do it again in a heartbeat!

As I had such a wonderful time this March teaching the 3-day London workshop, I thought perhaps you'd like to see what happened over the course of those days, what the final shots taken during the workshop looked like and basically, what exactly went down. Ready to take a look behind the scenes? Awesome, then please scroll down and read on …

WHAT HAPPENS AT A FOOD STYLING AND FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP?

After months of talking about it and planning like crazy behind the scenes the 2-day food styling and food photography workshop I ran with Aimee from Twigg Studios PLUS the 1-day small business mastermind I facilitated with Sorrel Roberts came and went in a flash. It was the most international group of eager food photography students and small business owners yet - with attendees coming to my cosy London studio from Slovakia, Dubai, Morocco, Denmark, Canada and the USA as well as good old London ;). How cool is that?!? :) To be honest, I could not have asked for a better group of fellow creatives and food lovers to hang out with over those three days. Want to see what happened over the course of the workshop?

FOOD STYLING AND FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE MARCH 2018

After lots of planning, anticipation, excitement and heaps more vegan cooking the London food styling and food photography course Silvia and I hosted this March has come and gone. As you all know from this blog post teaching is what fills my heart more than anything in the world. So just imagine what I was like before and during the workshop (HINT: a child in a sweet shop).

Silvia and I thought you'd like to see what a food photography and food styling workshop with us looks like which is why we are both sharing impressions of the two and a half day workshop with you today. Just click here if you'd like to see Silvia's take on the workshop, or read on if you want to re-live the workshop through my eyes and see some images from behind the scenes :).

MADRID FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY, STYLING AND SOCIAL MEDIA WORKSHOP

I feel life is there for living, for trying new things, for taking risks and for learning from your mistakes and triumphs. Always eager to practice what I preach I hence decided to take the plunge and teach my first food photography, styling and social media workshop abroad. It felt like a risk because the people that follow me on social media and visit my blog mainly live in the UK, but I was eager to test the waters and see what would happen if I hosted a photography workshop in Madrid. I must say, I'm delighted that I did because I got to work with a LOVELY group of women, whom I may never otherwise have had a chance to spend time with. But before I tell you all about them, want to hear what happened over the 2.5 days of the workshop? Cool, because that's what today's blog post is all about!

3-DAY FOOD STYLING AND FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP WITH TWIGG STUDIOS

In September, Aimee from Twigg Studios and I taught a 3-day food styling and food photograpy workshop in my home 'studio' in London. It followed on from our 3-day workshop which we taught back in March this year; we enjoyed it so much we decided to do it all again and am I glad we did; we had SUCH a good time.

So much so that we thought it would be nice to have YOU take a look at what went down, just in case you're thinking about attending one of our food photography workshops in the future ;). Ok then, without further ado, let's get stuck in, shall we?

VEGAN RED ONION FOCACCIA WITH SALVIA+LIMONE AND TWIGG STUDIOS (V+, ChF, NF)

I can't believe it's already a week ago since the 3-day food photography and food styling course Aimee and I taught has come to an end. We had SUCH a lovely time and in fact today's images, which were taken on day 2 of the workshop really, really capture the essence of what our workshop was about; lots of great food, lovely company and heaps of visual inspiration and creativity. I personally believe the images of day 2 were extra special as one of our 'students', the super talented Silvia, was present and SO generous as to share her delicious vegan red onion focaccia recipe with us as well as her incredible knowledge when it comes to styling.

3-DAY LONDON FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY AND FOOD STYLING WORKSHOP WITH TWIGG STUDIOS

It was probably around this time last year that Aimee from Twigg Studios asked me to run a food styling and food photography workshop with her in what seemed the unbelieveably distant future (March 2017!). Without hesitation I said yes and man, am I glad that I did. Though Aimee and I are VERY different people, us working together always kinda sorta really goes! And, I feel our lovely work connection shone through in this weekend's 3-day food photography and food styling workshop which was held at my humble, cosy home 'studio' in South East London. We only took 4 students each day to allow for lots of 1-2-1 attention and were over the moon that the workshop was sold out :).
